Rushdee is a management graduate from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He has close to twenty years of experience in the Sports Industry which includes working in Talent Identification and Athlete Development with the South African National Swim team and as Performance consultant and Olympic Campaign manager for swimming team of New Zealand.
Rushdee was awarded the South African swimming Coach of the Year in the years 1999 and 2000. Now working with the Inspire Institute of Sport, he hopes to ensure that under his guidance, India produces a steady set of world class athletes.
Ronald Simms Jr.
Head Coach, Boxing, IIS
Ronald Simms Jr. spent close to 23 years in the United States Air Force and was awarded the Air Force Athlete of the Year accolade in 1995. He also coached the Air Force Boxing Team for a period of five years and was a program coordinator at the United States Marine Corps Community Program.
As the President of TAG Boxing, he invented a new product, the Metabolic Training Gear which is aimed at helping boxers with their hand-eye and foot coordination. With years of experience in the sport, Ronald hopes to ensure the boxers at the IIS punch their way to medals at the international stage.
Head Coach, Judo, IIS
Born in Akhmeta, Georgia, Mamuka Kizilashvili began training in judo at just eight years of age. He participated and won medals in several junior tournaments until a knee injury brought a premature end to his career at the age of 20.
Overcoming his personal setback, Kizilashvili began his coaching career by training children between 6-12 years of age and also completed his coaching qualification in 2009. In 2012, Mamuka became the Vice President of the Georgian Judo Federation where his primary role was to oversee the creation and implementation of various training programs and coach education initiatives. Judokas under his tutelage have gone on to win numerous medals at the International level. Following this success, he was made Sporting Director of the Georgian Judo Federation in 2016 and now heads the Judo team at IIS.
Head Coach, Wrestling, IIS
Damien Jacomelli a Coaching graduate from the Sport University of Lyon, France. Prior to the joining IIS, he was a Cadet National Coach at Lyon Saint-Priest Academy and then went on to be the Head Coach, where he trained junior world champions in wrestling- Zelimkhan Khadjiev and Shamil Akhmedov, both from Russia, as well as Zohein El Ouarraque for the fifth World Championships in Wrestling. With immense experience in moulding talents, Damien spearheads the Wrestling division at IIS.
Head of Track & Field, IIS
Antony is a dedicated Olympic coach with comprehensive coaching experience in mentoring world-class athletes at a professional level. He has a PhD in Statistics and Econometrics from the university of Cergy-Pontoise. He was the founder of TMC (Technical Motion Control), an international professional group of elite jumpers and sprinters. He was then the Sprint and Triple Jump National coach for the World Youth and European Junior Championships and has a first degree certification in long, triple and high jump.
He has held multiple workshops on triple/long jump designed to enrich other coaches’ knowledge about various aspects of the sport. He has been a coach to 2 Olympic finalists, 3 World Championship finalists and 18 French National title holders amongst his many coaching achievements. Namely, he has worked with two-time Olympian Colomba Fofana, Julien Kapek-Olympic finalist in 2004, both from the Triple Jump discipline; he has also worked with N’diss Kaba Badji and Mickaël Hanany who are also Olympians in Long Jump and High Jump discipline respectively. He is now the head to Track and Field at the Inspire Institute of Sport.
Head of Strength & Conditioning, IIS
Dale Harris is a former two-time Australian and eight-time State Taekwondo Champion. He has also competed internationally in the Korean and USA Open as part of the senior taekwondo Australian team. He has done his Bachelors of Health Science and Honors of Exercise Science from the prestigious Deakin University in Australia, and is pursuing his Doctorate of Philosophy (Neurophysiology) at Deakin itself. He also has a Masters of Exercise Science (Strength & Conditioning) degree from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia.
Dale has been the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the London Skolars Rugby League Club and the Dandenong Stingrays. He then moved on to become a lecturer in 2016, after which he assumed the position of Chief Project Officer at Deakin University in 2017. He is an expert in coaching weightlifting, non-conventional resistance training and Olympic style lifts. He is also an ASCA Level 2 certified coach amongst his many accreditations, and will be essential to the growth of young athletes as the Head of Strength and Conditioning at IIS.
Head Physiotherapist, IIS
Dhananjay is a Sports Physiotherapist having completed his Masters of Physiotherapy (MPT) in Sports Medicine and possesses more than 12 years of experience in providing comprehensive and holistic sports physiotherapy expertise to elite athletes. He previously worked as Chief Sports Physiotherapist at Anglian Medal Hunt Company and has provided support services to members of the Indian National Shooting Team during the 2015 World Cup in Germany. He has worked with members of the Indian Boxing and Athletics team in preparation for Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, World Championships and the 2016 Rio Olympics. He is also a U.S.A licensed physical therapist and has published multiple research articles.
Dr. Kevin Caillaud
Head of Exercise Physiology, IIS
Dr. Kevin Caillaud is a Sports Scientist, Physiologist and Nutritionist from France, with BSc degrees in Exercise Training and Biology, an MSc in Exercise Science and a PhD in Exercise Physiology. He has multiple publications in French and has been a part of numerous research activities. Kevin was a competitive swimmer while growing up and plied his trade as a Sport Scientist and Performance Nutritionist for a number of elite and amateur athletes in various sports.
He was then a clinical exercise physiologist at his own practice before moving on to teaching and research at a few different universities. He is now the Head of Exercise Physiology at IIS, looking to apply his vast experience in the field on the budding athletes at the Institute.
Head of Academics, IIS
Khushboo Kakkad is an avid educator with flair for teaching and curriculum planning who plays a major role in the training and development of other teachers. She has over 10 years of extensive experience in multiple fields, with nearly five years in the healthcare industry. Khushboo has a Bachelor’s degree in Education to go along with her numerous diplomas and an MSc in Zoology. She has worked with Podar Education Network as a Curriculum Developer and was a Biology teacher at Birla College of Arts, Science and Commerce.She has also worked as a teacher trainer with the NGO, The Teacher Foundation where she was also a Senior Coordinator in Training and Teacher Support. At IIS, the primary objective is to design, organize and implement an educational program to cater to the needs of formal education for its athletes, and Khushboo will play a major role in the development of such a curriculum.
